At Insight Psychology, LLC, our Trauma-Informed Clinical Internship Program offers you a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic learning environment. As a private practice dedicated to providing compassionate mental health services to Medicaid-funded clients, we are committed to shaping the next generation of trauma therapists. This program, led by Dr. Crystal Wildes, Psy.D., an expert in trauma therapy, equips interns with the skills needed to excel in the field.
 
A core component of our program is comprehensive EMDR training, provided at no cost through Kase & Co., where Dr. Wildes serves as senior faculty. As part of your internship, you’ll receive EMDRIA-approved Basic Training in EMDR Therapy, setting a strong foundation for trauma-informed practice. This training empowers you to deliver evidence-based interventions that facilitate trauma recovery, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on clients with trauma histories.
 
Our program emphasizes trauma-informed care, offering a diverse client base that primarily includes Medicaid-funded individuals with trauma histories. Through this experience, you’ll learn how to deliver sensitive, client-centered care that respects the unique needs of those you serve. We believe in providing a supportive learning environment where interns can engage in regular case consultations, reflective practice sessions, and peer learning. This not only enhances your clinical skills but also builds confidence and fosters a sense of community among interns.
 
Interns receive supervised clinical hours, benefiting from one-on-one mentorship with experienced clinicians who support your professional growth. This guidance ensures that you develop the practical skills necessary to become a trauma-informed therapist. You’ll also gain real-world experience in both in-person and virtual therapy, offering direct care to underserved populations and putting theory into practice in meaningful ways.
 
If you’re currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program in psychology, counseling, or a related mental health field, and you’re committed to learning EMDR, we invite you to apply. This is an unpaid internship, but we provide EMDR training and clinical supervision at no cost. Located in Evergreen, CO, we also offer remote options to accommodate different needs and schedules.
